Baby, Please Don’t Go

Here’s a little project I’ve been meaning to do for awhile- tracing the history of a song in You Tube format. I thought 5 versions was probably enough, but there are other covers out there by Bob Dylan, MC5, The Doors, The Animals, and many, many more. For a good list, I recommend going here.  Right- I’m going to start at the top and work back to the original (Disclaimer: I can’t promise all the covers are good…)

And Big Joe Williams, who first recorded it in 1935. You can find the original version of the song on Harry Smith’s Anthology of American Folk Music Vol 4. Brilliant.
